On 2 Jul 1851 Mary Stewart, Pittsburgh, age 62, applied to obtain pension due heirs of Andrew McKee who died 20 Jun 1833, and of Mary McKee dec'd, wife and widow of said Andrew, who 11 Mar 1838. Mother's maiden name was Bamford, and they were married at New London Cross Roads, Chester Co, PA, 1770 by JP. First child was William bo c 1771 and died 1800 at 29. There were 8 children before Mary: Thomas McKee, Jane Henry, Mary Stewart, James McKee and Andrew McKee who died 7 Oct 1850. Thomas appeared, named his mother as Mary Bamford. Four children were born before Andrew's enlistment (William, Nancy, Jane and John), and 5 after his enlistment (James, Joseph, Andrew, Mary and Thomas); Thomas was youngest. Says family record was burned about 40 years ago. Andrew settled in Armstrong Co in1799, had 9 children, bought farm from John Cherry in 1798. Under the question about Mary McKee's application being dissalowed, her maiden name was given as Blanford. Seems like children who saw the family record would know what Mary's maiden name was.
