This is a difficult line die to many marriages, divorces and name changes in records. Although it would appear that John Sheridan McCullough was married to Margaret at her death, I can find no death records for her. The census records after 1900 are also irregular. Margaret appears alone in 1910 as "widow" with only child Mildred. Then, in 1920, there is a Maragret and a Mildred with correct dates and places of birth, living with a MC McCullough in Texas, who also matches John as far as birthdate and place of birth. It seems likely that this is the same family, but unclear what the background of this pattern was, although one can imagine!

Then there is son David with a birth record three months after a death record (and at age 3 months). However, changing January to June, give the correct age at death, so it looks like a transcription error, except that the 1900 census shows a David at age 3. However, after 1900, I can find no further records for either Mabel or David, so without any other records, it seems likely that both died young.
