The case of Viola is also strange. She would have been born when either Ernest or Joan would have been around 20 and unmarried. The census record is not written clearly. It could be Kerr or, as is given in the AKA of the record, Urr. I could find no matiching Kerr records and there is a Leslie Urr, married to Viola of about the right age. Since Urr is not a common name, this is probably the correct couple. However, her name is given in other records as Viola Siebert, and this does not match with any known names on the McCullough or Gregory side. I could also find no names for a Viola McCullough. It is a mystery why she ould be listed as a daughter, since if she is the Siebert Viola, both parents were still living at this time. In an earlier census, she is listed as their second child, also making it less likely that she was the result of an unexpected or unwed pregnancy.
In sum, it is unclear if Ernest McCullough had any natural children.
