Dorothy (Day) McCullough, 87, of Hopewell Twp., passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, in her home.

Born Feb. 28, 1921, in Steubenville, OH, she was a daughter of the late George and Dorothy (Noragon) Day. Mrs. McCullough worked during World War II as a lithographer for the United States government, designing maps for bombing raids. She and her husband were founding members of the Pittsburgh Chapters of the Volkswagon Club and Sportscar Club of America. Among her many hobbies, she enjoyed swimming, camping, and sailboating. Dorothy was an avid skier, hiker, bowler, and dog show handler.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William V. McCullough.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Lori McCullough, with whom she resided; a daughter, Lynn van Rooijen-McCullough and her husband, Rob van Rooijen, of the Netherlands; her grandchildren, Michael and Kevin van Rooijen, Bridget McCullough, Brandon and Chyane Brickner, Emmy and Remmy van Rooijen, and four great-grandchildren in the Netherlands.

Friends will be received today from 5 to 8 p.m. in the TATALOVICH FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 2205 McMinn St., Aliquippa, where a service will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m.

Private interment will take place in Homewood Cemetery, Pittsburgh.
