Virkus: "Ephraim (1741-1804), commissary gen. for north- Cumberland county. When the army was in camp at Valley Forge he gave liberally to relieve the distress, and from 1780-82 was commissary general of purchases. He was a member of the Society of the Cincinnati."
Observation 1776. In 1780 he was appointed commissary general of purchases and served with distinction to the close of the war. He was an original member of the Cincinnati. He was born in Ireland; died in Pennsylvania.
